Mary’s
conception
Now let us delve into the history
of the life of Jesus Christ to see whether the date of His birth is a secret as
we have been led to believe, or is it openly revealed in scriptures. The day that
Jesus Christ became conceived in His mother’s womb we are told that it was the
day the angel Gabriel visited Mary and said to her “Do not be afraid, Mary, for
you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and
bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. He will be great, and will be
called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His
father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His
kingdom there will be no end."
Then Mary said to the angel,
"How can this be, since I do not know a man?" And the angel answered
and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the
Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born
will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also
conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was
called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible." Then Mary said,
"Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your
word" (Luke 1:30-38).
So again I beg to ask the
question, when was the titles “Son of God,” King of Kings; Lord of lords, Everlasting
Father, Prince of peace bestowed on Jesus Christ! Was it not from the time of
His birth? The truth of the matter is, from the time Mary believed what the
angel Gabriel said to her and she replied; “Behold the maidservant of the Lord!
Let it be to me according to your word" she became conceived and since the
angel informed her by saying; “Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also
conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was
called barren,” verifies that John Baptist was six months older than Jesus
Christ and so, if we can prove when John Baptist was born we simply have to add
six months to that time.
And so, the question we should all be asking ourselves is there a biblical festival that honors Jesus Christ as the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace? And what does it means to have a feast and celebrate it to the Lord? Doesn’t it mean that we are to celebrate or commemorate this particular festival in His honor? And if we are in honor of what!
