The complacency and lackadaisical attitude of believers

The complacency and lackadaisical attitude of believers

I am amazed and truly perplexed to see how the majority of us who professed to be believers are so complacent and lackadaisical when it comes to the worship of God and His Son Jesus Christ when we have been duly instructed saying; “You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image --- any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments” (Exodus 20:20:3-6)

And if anyone is trying to disassociate Jesus Christ from the Father, the instruction is as follows; “that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him” (John 5:23)

Now with regards to that Christmas and New Year tradition despite of all what can be learned from history, prophecy and the laws of nature, professing Christians have such a callous and insensitive attitude towards the reverence of God leads me to wonder about the severity of the cloud of deception that hover over this earth.

As believers we should all know that, when it comes to worship one either worship the One and only true God in spirit and in truth or, worship Satan the father of lies. Therefore, if the day or occasion on which we worship is not ordained by God, one is advertently or inadvertently worshiping the devil, this I think should be clear to everyone who professes to be believers in Jesus Christ.

Prophecy forewarned us that, the world was to be ruled by four world ruling kingdoms beginning with the rule of king Nebuchadnezzar and the Spirit revealed to the prophet Daniel that the fourth kingdom which is the Roman Empire shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law” (Daniel 7:23-25).

The apostle John also forewarned us by saying; “Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority” (Revelation 13:2).

Therefore, when it comes to worship if the day, the time and occasion is not what God ordained we are worshiping the devil for we have been instructed saying; “So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" (Revelation 13:4)

I therefore beg to ask the question: why when something happened after midnight people say that it happened in the morning! When nature clearly shows that, there is morning and evening, day and night, light and darkness which are all diametrically opposite to each other. In fact twelve O’clock in the day is known as mid-day (middle of the day), and twelve O’clock in the night is known as mid-night (middle of the night).

Also, are there not four seasons in the year which are spring, summer, autumn and winter? So, if the seasons begin with spring why do we celebrate the New Year in winter and not in spring?

Why are the months of September, October, November and December which originated from numbers seven, eight, nine and ten are no longer what they originally were, but are now the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth month, so which one that is right? And the question is who changed them?

These are some of the things that I am perplexed to see how complacent, calloused and lackadaisical the majority of professing believer are when we have been forewarned saying; “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities” (Revelation 18:4).

May the Lord have mercy on our souls for truly, these times of ignorance God has overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent?
