The process of spiritual growth
I do not think that many people have taken the time and dedication to
properly asses and analyze the reality and practicality of the life which exist
in the spirit despite the fact that we have been duly instructed saying; “I say
then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For
the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these
are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish”
(Galatians 5:16-17).
As
one can clearly see, there is a definite struggle between the life which is in
accordance to the flesh and the life which is in accordance to the Spirit and
the admonition is; “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit”
(Galatians 5:25).
To
have a clear understanding of the reality and practicality of this life in the
Spirit we will need to compare it with that of the flesh for this is what we
have been instructed saying; “For since the creation of the world His invisible
attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even
His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).
And
so, if we can see and understand the three dimensions of human growth we also
will be able to know and comprehend the three dimensions of the life which is
in accordance to the Spirit with only one exemption which has to do with time,
The
process of physical life follows these three dimensions;
a.
Gestation
This is the process or period of
which the embryo is developing inside the womb between conception and birth.
b.
Birth of the new born
This
process normally takes a period of nine (9) months but sometimes one can
experience a pre-mature birth.
c.
Development
and growth of the new born.
This is
dependent on oxygen, nutrition (water and food), exercise, restoration (rest
and sleep) and entertainment.
