The date of Christ is intertwined with the Feast of Tabernacles

·         Jesus Christ Himself

Jesus Christ Himself confirmed to Pilate that His kingship began from His birth because when Jesus was brought before Pilate, he called Jesus, and said to Him, "Are You the King of the Jews?" Jesus answered him, "Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning Me?"

Pilate answered, "Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?" Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here." Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."  (John 18:33-37).

So why does the majority of professing believers refuse or are unable to associate the birth of Jesus Christ with the Jewish feast of Tabernacles?

·         The birth of Jesus Christ is intertwined with the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles

Since Jesus Christ was inaugurated as King from birth and it was for this cause that He was born and came into the world and there is a feast which has been specifically ordained by God to honor the King of kings and Lord of hosts why are we who profess to believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of Man not observing this festival?

For this is what the prophet Zechariah wrote saying; “And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.’

“And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain. If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.’

“This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. In that day "HOLINESS TO THE LORD" shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. The pots in the LORD's house shall be like the bowls before the altar. Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holiness to the LORD of hosts” (Zechariah 14:16-21).

Remember that, Jesus Christ the Beloved Son of God by whom all things whether in heaven or on earth visible or invisible were created, divested Himself of His glory and became the Son of Man is the same yesterday, today and forever. Therefore, if the feast of Tabernacles was instituted and ordained to be observed in the past and will be observed in the future why is it not being observed today by the majority who professed to be believers in Jesus Christ as the Beloved Son of God?

We should also question ourselves and ask why is there an eighth day associated with the Feast of Tabernacles? This eighth day commemorates the circumcision of Jesus Christ, the day on which HE received the name which is above all other names and inducted Gentiles who at that time were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world one together with the Jews.

This Eighth Day or the Last Great Day also foreshadows eternity when the Jesus Christ will hand over everything back to the Father after His millennial reign on earth.
