The appointed times to offer the
Lord the food for His offerings
The Lord did not leave us ignorant as to when we are to
offer to Him the food for His offerings as everything else we have been duly
instructed saying; “Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His
secret to His servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7)
And of course if we are all to speak the same thing and
that there be no divisions among us, but that we be perfectly joined together
in the same mind and in the same judgment obviously there ought to be some
guidelines or regulations that would guide us through the same process which is
simply stated as follows;
"Command the children of Israel, and say to them,
'My offering, My food for My offerings made by fire as a sweet aroma to Me, you
shall be careful to offer to Me at their appointed time (Numbersn28:2).
Now the appointed times when we are to offer to the Lord
the food for Hs offerings are:
- Morning /Evenings
This
offering is known as our daily regular offering which is a thanksgiving
offering, thanking God for His lovingkindness in the morning, and His
faithfulness in the evening.as illustrated by the Psalmist David who wrote; “it
is good to give thanks to the LORD and to sing praises to Your name, O Most
High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness
every night” (Psalm 92:,1-2).
The
crux of the matter is, humanity has absolutely no fellowship with the Father
unless their sins are forgiven and cleansed and the one and only access to
Father and have fellowship with Him is through the food for His offerings as
endorsed by the apostle Paul who wrote;
“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter
the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, (represented by the wine), by a new and
living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh
(represented by the unleavened bread), and having a High Priest over the house
of God (Jesus Christ our High Priest), let us draw near with a true heart in
full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience
and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our
hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:19-23).
Remember
that this passage of scripture is quite synonymous to the words of Jesus Christ
when He said; “am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through Me” (John 14:6).
The
way to the Father is through His body represented by the unleavened bread, the
truth is Jesus Christ our High Priest interceding on our behalf and the life is
the blood of Jesus Christ represented by the wine.
- As a peace/fellowship offering;
The
burnt offering in our new dispensation is the peace or fellowship offering
which is offered to the Lord during a holy convocation? As alluded to by the
apostle Paul who wrote; “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the
communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the
communion of the body of Christ? For we
though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.”
We
should also take
into consideration the fact that the main objective for having a holy
convocation is to offer the Lord the food for His offerings as we have clearly been instructed saying; “These are the feasts of the Lord which you shall proclaim
to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to the Lord, a burnt
offering and a grain offering, a sacrifice and drink offerings, everything on
its day ---besides (or in addition to) the Sabbaths of the Lord, besides your
gifts, besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill offerings which you
give to the Lord” (1Corintians
10:16-17; (Leviticus
23:37-38).
As
one can clearly see that this offering is besides or in addition to observing
the Sabbaths or whatever gifts, offerings or vows which one wants to offer to
the Lord thus making it the main objective for having a holy convocation.
