Are we true witnesses of the Way (part 2)

The Way therefore, is the physical body of Jesus Christ and everything that it entails. For example:

·       The physical life which He lived

As we have been duly instructed saying; “For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: " Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth" (1Peter2:21-22).

“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world” (1John 4:17).

·       The church

As we have been duly instructed saying; “And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” Also; “Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually” (Colossians 1:18; 1Corinthians 12:27).

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head --- Christ ---from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love” (Ephesians 4:11-16).

·       Access to the Father

Jesus Christ stated quite clearly; "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” And the way to the Father is through His body as confirmed by the apostle Paul who wrote; “Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water” (Hebrews 1: 19-22).

·       The communion or Fellowship of the body of Christ

For we have been instructed saying; “Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to wise men; judge for yourselves what I say. The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread” (1Corinthians 10:14-17).

The bread therefore, represents the church, the body of Christ, the new and living way to the Father and communion or fellowship of believers.
