5.The
nations worship the King
Let us bear in mind the fact that
the key in determining and proving the exact date of Jesus’ birth is by
associating it with the arrival of the King of kings and the Lord of lords, the
day on which the “WORD” was made flesh and dwelt among us, so the exact date of
Jesus’ birth is the day to commemorate the arrival of the King of kings and
Lord of lords and so, in the book of the prophet Zechariah we have been duly
instructed saying; “And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all
the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to
worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles” (Zechariah
14:16).
And so, my humble question is, since
there is a feast ordained by God on which everyone who is left of all the
nations shall go up from year to year to worship the King the Lord of hosts and
to keep the Feast of Tabernacles and the Feast of Tabernacles as one can
clearly see is intertwined with the worship of the King of kings so my humble question
is, when one observes the Feast of Tabernacles, who and what are they celebrating
and commemorating? And since Jesus Christ inherited the title King of king from
birth is it not the birth of Jesus Christ that is being celebrated when one
observes the Feast of Tabernacles?
Now, since Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday, today and forever and in the past the children of Israel observed
the Feast of Tabernacles which they were instructed saying; “You shall keep it
as a feast to the LORD for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute
forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month” (Leviticus
23:31).
And in the future, everyone who is
left of all the nations shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the
Lord of hosts and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. My question then is, why are
the majority of believers today not observing this festival? And why are the
few who are observing this festival and still clinging to the instructions the
Lord gave to the children of Israel stating; “You shall dwell in booths for
seven days. All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths, that your
generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths
(temporary dwellings) when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the
LORD your God." Fail to associate this festival with the birth of Jesus
Christ” (Leviticus
23:42-43).
When the main objective for observing
and commemorating the Feast of Tabernacles is to worship the King of kings, the
Lord of hosts a title which the Lord inherited from birth.
